Our history

Its founder, Jaime Bosch Barrufet, arrived in Chile in 1953 from Spain, Catalonia, specifically Juneda, at the age of 27. With his suitcase full of dreams and experience in agriculture. In his first years he started working outside Santiago, specifically in the fields of Pirque. In 1957, he returned to Spain to bring to Chile the woman who became his wife Teresina Mateu. Together, after a long boat trip of 30 days to get to Chile, they settled in the region of Maule, Talca, where Jaime Bosch became independent. Thus Huertos Montserrat was born.

In 1970, he enters the fruit business, planting the first hectares of European D’agen plum trees for dehydration. In 1975, with the help of his sons, he builds the first dehydration plant; at the same time, he starts with table grape plantations (Thompson Seedless). Two years later he becomes an exporting company. In 1980 the first packing plant was built, which allowed us to add the export of packed boxes of grapes to plums. In 1985 we started planting Kiwifruit (Hayward) and 3 controlled cold chambers were built, especially for kiwifruit. In 1988, we began planting Red Chief, Royal Gala, Fuji and Granny Smith apples. Between 2002 and 2012, new fourth generation apple varieties were introduced, such as Brokfield Gala, Pacific Gala, Fuji Fubrak and the most recent variety Pink Lady.
